What Is a Business OS? One System for Your Whole Business

A Business OS is one connected software system where a business's customers, sales, invoices, payments, staff and tasks live in a single shared database, so every part of the business sees the same facts, instead of the usual mix of WhatsApp, Excel sheets and apps that do not talk to each other.

Anant AGI is being built as a Business OS for small and mid-sized businesses in India, with AI agents that do routine work and ask a person to approve what matters.

What does "Business OS" actually mean?

A phone's operating system lets many apps share the same contacts, calendar and storage. A Business OS does the same for a company. Customer details are saved once, and sales, billing, finance and operations all use that record.

Compare this with a common small-business setup:

Without a shared system With a Business OS
Leads in WhatsApp and a sheet Leads in one customer list
Invoices in an accounting tool Invoices linked to the same customer and deal
Payment follow-ups remembered by one person Overdue invoices flagged by the system
Each tool has its own login and its own copy of the data One login and one record per customer
Reports built by hand at month-end Reports drawn from the live data

Who is it for?

The working target for Anant AGI is Indian small and mid-sized businesses with roughly 5 to 50 employees: service firms, D2C brands, agencies and local B2B companies that run on WhatsApp, spreadsheets and a Tally-style accounting tool, with nobody whose full-time job is operations or finance. This is a planning assumption from our product documents, not a customer survey.

How is that different from ERP software like Zoho or Odoo?

Suites such as Zoho and Odoo also give you many modules on shared data — this "one database, many functions" idea is the same one analysts use to define ERP software. The difference Anant AGI is aiming for is how AI is used. AI is designed in from the start: agents take actions inside the same data, and a person approves anything customer-facing, financial or hard to undo. We are not claiming to be better than these products today — they are mature and widely used, and Anant AGI is earlier in its life.

What does the "AI agent" part mean here?

An agent is a piece of software with a defined job, such as chasing an overdue invoice or following up a stale lead. In Anant AGI each agent reads and writes the same business data, so one agent does not work blind to what another has done. A good example is how overdue payments get chased in the first place — see how to recover overdue invoices in India for the full follow-up plan.

Can one platform serve different kinds of business?

That is the design goal. Anant AGI separates what every business needs (customers, sales, invoices, payments, tasks) from what one type of business needs — for example service contracts for medical equipment, bookings for event planners, or sessions for a game zone. The system keeps a list of business types, and the screens a business sees are meant to match its type, so it does not face dozens of unused modules.

Today this is built from a working base. The code started from a live service-management product made for the founder's own medical-equipment business, and other business types are being added as packs: equipment service, game zone, events and ads. Some packs are further along than others, so check the current product page before assuming a feature exists.

What should you check before choosing any Business OS?

What will it cost?

We are not publishing prices here yet. Pricing is still a working plan and has not been confirmed.

FAQ

What is a Business OS in simple words?

One software system that holds your customers, sales, invoices, payments and tasks together, so you do not copy information between tools.

Is a Business OS the same as ERP?

They overlap. ERP is the older term for software that joins company functions. "Business OS" is a newer label that puts more weight on being simple for small teams and on AI doing routine work.

Do I need to be technical to use one?

It should not need technical skill. The design aim is simple screens, scoped to the type of business.

Does Anant AGI replace my accountant or Tally?

Not by default. It includes finance features, but check your needs with your accountant before switching anything.

Can AI send messages to my customers without asking?

By default, no. Customer-facing and financial actions are drafted for a person to approve.
